You have probably heard the saying “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”. Well, that is true in almost all areas of life. Even with respect with your health. If you are surrounding yourself with messages that create self sabotage or negativity, it can be very difficult to meet your health goals.
What are you listening to for health advice? What “Health experts” have your ear? If you are watching TV, chances are you have seen many commercials or ads for prescription drugs that promise to treat all types of symptoms. Is that what you are looking for? We have developed a very extensive sick-care system in the U.S. and very little is being done to promote true health care.
Are you on a journey with like-minded people who are striving for optimal health? If not, you will most likely end up drifting into bad habits and risk not achieving the health you are looking for.
One of the things I constantly strive to do is learn from those I admire and trust. Push myself to be better. A better doctor. A better wife. A better mom. A better disciple and representative of the Kingdom of God. It takes constant effort to refuse negativity and surround myself with people who are on this same journey of continuous improvement.
A few weeks ago, I had the tremendous opportunity to learn from some individuals I consider to be among the top 1% of Naturally-minded, functional doctors. Dr. Issac Jones and Dr. David Jockers. I attended a virtual summit and had the opportunity to watch with a group of doctors in the home of Dr. Jockers. I got to ask questions, share stories and meet these wonderful, successful doctors and their families. I very much appreciate the effort these two doctors have expended to promote functional health care. They have both invested their lives into making people truly healthy and I am grateful what they have each taught me.
I was energized and re-committed to continuous learning so that I can best serve my clients who want to find the root of their health issues and find true health, not just treat symptoms.
My question for you is this… Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are you consuming negative messages or those of hope and life? You will most likely become like the 5 people you are most influenced by. This is a friendly reminder to choose wisely.
To your health!
Dr. Jeni
