I work with people with all kinds of health challenges, but the one thing most of them have in common is that they need to address their concerns with a healthy diet. Here is a short description of a diet I believe works for almost everyone to improve their health. Sometimes there is more to the picture, but it’s a great starting point!
Limit sugar in all of it’s forms. Artificial sweeteners are to be avoided as well. If you must, use small amounts of stevia (an herb) to sweeten your foods.
Follow a plant-based diet heavy on antioxidant-rich organic vegetables, and small amounts of organic fruit. Try to eat twice as many vegetables as fruit.
Incorporate healthy fats like coconut, avocados and grass fed better into your diet
Avoid high-carb foods like grain and bread products. Healthy sources of carbohydrates are things like sweet potatoes and small amounts of quinoa.
Focus on High-quality, healthy proteins: Focus on wild-caught fish, organic chicken and turkey, pastured eggs and grass fed/finished beef
